As a family specialist Yocasta created a strong relationship with families and partners. She also leads in person and virtual programming, like read-aloud. Created new programs for the community like Reading Habits. She also supports our Parent Workshops and Family Academies. She recruits the most engaged participants into our Very Involved Parent (VIP) Academy and empowers them to overcome the fear of reading. Yocasta first came to LINC driven by their mission. Prior to her time at LINC she studied criminal Justice thinking that was her passion, then decided to be a Daycare provider for children 6 weeks old to 12 years old by having a home based daycare. For over 12 years she learned about community resources and the magical world of teaching and taking care of children. Yocasta enjoyed the privilege of teaching the kids their first words and helping to do their first walking step. Yocasta became more passionate about the community, families and children when she started at LINC where she continued to grow along with the families on the wonderful journey of creating a community of readers. Yocasta was born in the Dominican Republic, and she speaks English and Spanish.
