Beverly joined LINC as the Queens Community Coordinator in 2018. In this role, she works to fulfill LINC’s mission and vision by collaborating with partners, schools, and families in Queens. She coordinates workshops for families, read-alouds, and our Little Bees programs, and also hosts programs for the Reads initiative. She is proud of how passionate Queens families are and how much they enjoy joining and sharing our programs. Beverly came to LINC as a Very Involved Parent (VIP); she initially learned about us from her son’s elementary school and began attending events around the city. Prior to working with LINC, Beverly was a nursing assistant and was always very involved with her kids and their schools. She served as a Title 1 rep for her daughter’s high school, the PTA president for her son, and on the School Leadership Team. She served as the chairperson of the Head Start program at the South Jamaica Center for Children and Parents. Beverly was born in Guyana. Outside of work, she loves traveling and taking road trips. She also loves reading, especially books on personal development and leadership, and makes it a point to read at least one book a month. Her favorite children’s books are The Three Little Pigs, Jabari Jumps, and Pete the Cat: Too Cool for School.
