Give monthly to help LINC close the achievement gap –“$20 for 20” campaign.
A typical middle-class child enters 1st grade with 1,000+ hours of one-on-one picture book reading, compared with an average of just 25 hours for a child from a low-income family. That’s where the achievement gap starts, with an opportunity gap. For 20+ years, Literacy, Inc. (LINC) has supported emerging readers by increasing their opportunities to read and be read to – by their peers, parents and neighbors.
For less than a dollar a day, you can help narrow the gap, and provide a reliable source of funding for LINC’s effective, community literacy programs.
Sign up today to participate in LINC’s “$20 for 20” campaign. Donate $20 per month and make a tremendous difference in the lives of thousands youngsters in high-poverty neighborhoods across New York City.
Reading has the power to change lives and you have the power to make that happen.
Share the joy of reading today!
The “$20 for 20” campaign is a special project of the LINC Professional Advisory Council (PAC) to celebrate LINC’s dedication to ending the literacy crisis facing NYC children living in high-needs neighborhoods.
