Give monthly to help LINC close the achievement gap –“$20 for 20” campaign.
A typical middle-class child enters 1st grade with 1,000+ hours of one-on-one picture book reading, compared with an average of just 25 hours for a child from a low-income family. That’s where the achievement gap starts, with an opportunity gap. For 20 years, Literacy, Inc. (LINC) has supported emerging readers by increasing their opportunities to read and be read to – by their peers, parents and neighbors.
For less than a dollar a day, you can help narrow the gap, recognize LINC’s 20th anniversary, and provide a reliable source of funding for LINC’s effective, community literacy programs.
Sign up today to participate in LINC’s “$20 for 20” campaign. Donate $20 per month and make a tremendous difference in the lives of thousands youngsters in high-poverty neighborhoods across New York City.
Reading has the power to change lives and you have the power to make that happen.
Share the joy of reading today!
The “$20 for 20” campaign is a special project of the LINC Professional Advisory Council (PAC) to celebrate LINC’s 20th Anniversary and one of several programs for young professionals interested in supporting LINC’s work.
